Alcala NNW to NW wind - Windsurfing

The 3 breaks at Alcala work without wind nearly always, but several days per year you have the possibility to sail with NNW to NW as well there.
The lefthander then gives maybe only a ramp for jumping and of the wave in the middle you should better stay away as far as possible. One time washed there, its nearly sure that you goanna end on the rocks and you wont like this.

The spot is called as well "K16", or Punta Blanca. You will find the spots around 2km after leaving the village of Alcala in the direction of Los Gigantes. There are 3 different very good waves. 1 left and righthander, 1 left and 1 right.

Almaciga/Benijo - Surf, Windsurf
At the most Northeastern side of the northshore of Tenerife you will find the wild spots of Almaciga and Benijo close to the small village of Taganana. This constant surfing spots are never crowded, for their isolation of minimum 30 min driving from each bigger city. Only over the weekends theres some more people there. For surfing it works nearly always, but for windsurfing its very difficult to find the right day. Try, if you have the time, maybe you will be lucky. Better be always friendly to the locals.. El Cabezo works with NNE to E winds. These are the regular North Atlantic Trade Winds. This spot works 200 days a year with Waveequipment from 6,0 to 3,0 sails and XL to XS Waveboards. Sideonshore. Rocks. Better for Experts.

El Socorro - South - Windsurf, Surf

Between St Cruz and EL Medano you will find an alternative spot to the El Medano region if the wind is too northern. El Medano is famous for beeing quite consistent and offering you to sail many days per month without even leaving the village. But the north and NNE wind sometimes doesnt enter at El Medano with its full power. Then its time for the wavecracks to drive 20 min on the highway till Guimar. Igueste - Surf
Igueste is maybe the best surfing spot on Tenerife. An incredible good and long lefthander. First problem: it works only with a NE swell. With other swells its just flat. Next problem: tuby, flat rocks and very powerful. Biggest problem: the only surf spot close to the capital of the island. So if its on during the weekend, its HYPERcrowded.
